Juneathon Day 23

Thankfully my left foot was pain free and I was able to go for a much needed run. I decided to give my foot a break from the pavement pounding, and after waiting forever for my Garmin to function, headed towards the top end of Sutton Park.

Less than 10 minutes later I was back running on one of my favourite trails in the park.

After slogging my way through some particularly energy sapping mud, I realised that I had seriously overestimated my fitness levels and started to walk. The beauty of my surroundings distracted me from the relentless heat and lack of shade, and the pain in my lungs and legs.

I love living so close to Sutton Park and will miss my quiet trails when I move away.

Next time Iโ€™ll ensure that I walk the mile or so to the park as a warm-up. If I decide to run in the middle of a hot day Iโ€™ll also carry something to drink.

Cumulative Juneathon Distance 36.06 km
