I estimate that 85% of dogs in Sutton Park are not on leads. Even the most well behaved dogs can be quite scary when they run towards you. As soon as I sense potential dog related danger, I get my phone ready and make it obvious I’m recording. It’s amazing how quickly dog owners get their dogs back under control when they realise you’re filming. I’m not sure I’d be brave enough to use this technique if I was wearing ‘normal’ clothes and shoes. At least in my running gear I was able to make a quick(ish) escape.
