Thanks Dorothea. Yes, I made the mistake of upgrading this blog. I'd had enough of the slightly dubious adverts WordPress insisted on plastering across my old blog and decided to go self-hosted. I've been regretting the move ever since as everything is far more complicated. At the moment I'm feeling like I need a PhD in blogging rather than hydrology!

Thanks Maria it is! Apologies for not responding to your comments before now, now that I've finally worked out how to respond to comments on my new and improved blog I've got a bit of catching up to do! I'm definitely not very keen on the exercise bike. I finding peddling on the spot for 30 minutes really boring and would rather be out running! Perhaps I need to buy myself a 'proper' bike.

Thanks Anna. I've just about got used to the stop, start, stop start feeling. Now that the running intervals are a little longer in duration I'm finding training a little easier. I just a little concerned I'll forget how to run without incorporating walking/recovery breaks.

Wow! I've missed something. Your layout for the blog is different! And I can't just "like" anymore, so I'll just pop in and say it's exciting to see you are training for a marathon! Looks like a nice weekend, too.

It sounds like the running is going well :)
It is so dark already now though :(

Good luck with the bike! I took my (actual) bike to a shop the other week to get ti serviced, as for ages the brakes were constantly on slightly, which made pedalling harder! I just need to get a helmet now, who knows how long it will take me to get one...

Well done on your week! I couldn't imagine doing intervals once a week let alone several. I have no ryhme or reason really how I train asides from a long run distance once a week which I try and increase if I'm training for a race. Everything else is just however I fancy - which I probably why I rarely PB and my pace reamains consistently stagnant!
