Thanks 🙂 I do enjoy writing them and tend to have quite a few ‘that would make a great rave’ or ‘I need to rant about that’ moments during the week. VAR works really well in tennis and rugby, I think the decisions being so quick definitely helps. The DRS system in cricket must also be based on similar principles to VAR and works well. I remember cricket teams complaining when DRS was introduced, now they complain when it isn’t used.

The VAR thing is so interesting because it seems to work so well in other sports (tennis/ rugby) but it seems that they need to refine it- before teams lost out on bad decisions but now it seems that the same number and losing in the opposite direction. Also it does seem to take ages- think about hawkeye and how quickly it is ruled either way.
