That’s so sad about Ellenbrook Fields parkrun :-(

I really do believe that you get to feel like part of the team at your home parkrun. I’m not sure what I’d so if Sutton Park parkrun was asked to stop, I'd be devastated. I’ve volunteered at another local parkrun a couple of times, but for some reason it just didn’t feel the same. Everyone was really friendly but I’m not very confident when I’m in a group of people I don’t know. If I move from Four Oaks to Lichfield, I’m not sure what I’m going to do as Beacon parkrun will become my home parkrun.

Yes, nothing beats marshalling in the sunshine. I loved standing in the shade watching red-faced people run past me on what turned out to be the warmest Sutton Park parkrun ever. Having said that, I also love marshalling when it’s frosty. I just need to make sure I’m dressed for the conditions and wearing enough layers.

Such a lovely post :)
I must admit that since my home run of Ellenbrook Fields didn't get permission to come back, I have volunteered less as I just don't feel as part of the team as I felt with EF, although I did marshal today coincidentally and loved it. In the summer it's great to stand around in the sunshine rather than get all sweaty running!
